
Legacy Family Tree Users Group – YOUNG
This is an informal meeting where you can share ideas and learn from other people with experience using Legacy The meeting includes live demonstrations on how to use the Legacy software, as well as time to address specific questions or problems.
Richard has been working with genealogy for almost 50 years. He is a retired technology specialist with the federal government. He has authored several blogs, including www.familyhistorytech.com, which investigates technology and genealogy. Richard has taught genealogy courses at the local community college, has been a presenter at FHExpos, RootsTech 2014, RootsTech 2017, Family History and Genealogy Society meetings across the greater Phoenix/Mesa area. He was a media Ambassador for FGS 2015, RootsTech 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019, and RootsTech Influencer in 2021 and 2022. He has also served as a Family History Missionary at the Mesa Family History Library and is currently a Volunteer at the Mesa Family Search Center.
He is the past President of the Family History Society of Arizona, and currently the First Vice President, membership chair and webmaster. Richard serves at the membership chair and webmaster to the Arizona Genealogical Advisory Board and is the past Vice President of the Arizona Council of Professional Genealogists. Richard is also the coordinator for the Mesa Legacy Family Tree User Group and the Virtual Chapter of the Family History Society of Arizona. He also serves as the Genealogist for the Palo Verde Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.
Richard is also a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists; Utah Genealogical Society; Arizona Council of Professional Genealogists; Arizona Genealogical Advisory Board; Family History Society of Arizona, West Valley Genealogical Society, and Genealogical Speakers Guild.
