The primary focus of the class is the immigration of the Scottish to America. We will also go over a general history of Scotland and timeline to help you get a feel for how your ancestors lived and why and when they may have immigrated. The class will also include how to utilize specific maps and the best websites to aid in your search for Scottish ancestors.

Born and raised in Scotland, Margaret gained her love of Genealogy when she was only 18. She enjoyed spending whole days at Register House in Edinburgh doing family history research. When she was 20 she emigrated to California, shortly after she married an Arizona native and established her family’s roots in Arizona.  Her passion for Genealogy was placed on the back burner as she raised her 7 children and helped her husband build his business.  She rediscovered her love of finding and uniting families with their heritage.  Margaret served as a missionary at the Mesa Family History Center specializing in Scottish research.
