Swedish Research in ArkivDigital – SAFSTEN

Learn how to navigate ArkivDigital, Sweden’s digital genealogical database, following one man’s life path in Sweden to learn research techniques and tips. This lesson is for beginning learners and for those who want to brush up on their Scandinavian research techniques. While we will focus on Sweden’s database, many of these strategies apply throughout Scandinavian Lutheran church records.

Kaarin Safsten has always been passionate about her family heritage, and especially that of her Swedish grandparents. Specializing in Swedish research, she also has experience working with American records. Kaarin began seriously researching her family history in 2017. She has served as a temple and family history consultant since that time and has volunteered at the Mesa Temple Visitors Center since it opened in 2021. Kaarin loves to help others discover and connect to their family.
