軍事記錄研究：如何開始 – 堡壘

A better understanding of military research has been a short-term goal. Dad served in the Army prior to World War II but has very little information in his personal history concerning his time in the military. I’ve been able to find information for some of my grandparents and want to learn more and the best way to do that is to teach others about the methods and available resources.

2017 年 7 月，當我和伊萊恩被召喚到鹽湖城總部傳道部服務時，我對家族史研究的興趣加速了。我們本可以接到 20 個不同的區域。我們有幸在家族歷史圖書館服務，現在被稱為 FamilySearch 圖書館。

作為五個兄弟姐妹中的老大，我接到了一項非正式任務，即為我父母的家族記錄 Fort 和 Stratton 家族的歷史。在過去的 24 年裡，我母親的家人每三年為她父母的後代舉行一次家庭團聚，通常有 200 多名家庭成員在勞動節週末參加為期四天的聚會。

我父親的家庭要小得多，只有一個從小活下來的兄弟，他只有一個女兒。我們與他家族中的任何大家庭都沒有任何联系。
