Remember the Mezona

March 23 @ 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM MST

Join the Mesa Temple Visitors’ Center as we commemorate the 100-year anniversary of one of Mesa’s legends, the Mezona. BYU Professor Fred E. Woods will present stories and photos highlighting this important piece of local history. First built by farmer John T. Vance in 1908, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints purchased the building and renamed it the Mezona in 1926. According to the Mesa Tribune, during the 1940’s and 1950’s, the Mezona dance floors were where a good percentage of East Valley couples met, got engaged, or announced their engagements.

This entertaining and informative event will be held at the Visitors’ Center on Monday, March 23, at 7:00 PM and is free to the public.
